Press release - November 22, 2006
(Hamburg, London 22 November 2006) Together with its affiliate partners GDMX (Los Angeles), DGP (London) and IDM (Sofia) the Hamburger DVD studio Enteractive, an 85% subsidiary of Splendid Medien AG, Cologne was able to win the competitive international tender for the BBC's HD project. The eleven-hour documentation about our Mother Earth is being produced for release on the new DVD successor formats HD DVD and Blu-ray (world distribution by 2|Entertain).
2|Entertain selected Enteractive and its affiliate partners based on their many years of successful DVD production experience with international customers such as Warner Home Video and 20th Century Fox. Furthermore, the partner companies have been working on the production of next-generation DVDs in the Blu-ray and HD DVD format for more than one year. One advantage which only few companies anywhere in the world have.
Hans D. Henseleit, managing director of Enteractive GmbH, is pleased by the acquisition success: "It is both a great honour and a challenge that one of our first HD DVD and Blu-ray productions is the outstanding BBC documentary "Planet Earth". Our production partners and we are now responsible for all the releases of the two new HD disc formats on all five continents.
The project "Planet Earth" is the start of a series of additional BBC documentaries for the two new disc formats Blu-ray and HD DVD.
