Filming for Operation Napoleon – TEARS OF THE WOLF (AT) has begun in Finland!

Cologne, October 22, 2025 – Splendid Film, Sagafilm, and Take Two Studios have joined forces for the sequel to the internationally successful Nordic adventure "Operation Napoleon": Operation Napoleon – TEARS OF THE WOLF (AT) has been in principal photography on the Finnish island of Örö since September 30!
In the new installment, Kristin and her team embark on a thrilling hunt for the "Tears of the Wolf," a legendary treasure trove of Nazi diamonds hidden during World War II. After witnessing a murder, Kristin discovers the first clues and, together with Steve and Einar, deciphers fragmented war artifacts, lost musical notes, and encrypted codes. Their journey takes them through Iceland, Finland, and Germany, culminating in a suspenseful chase through Helsinki's underground bunker system and a dramatic showdown in the Finnish archipelago. Hunted by brutal mercenaries and a deadly assassin, the trio must navigate numerous twists and turns, betrayals, and deeply buried historical secrets of Europe.
Finnish director Jyri Kähönen (Trackers, Bordertown) directs the English-language thriller, based on a screenplay once again written by Marteinn Thorisson (Operation Napoleon, Jack Taylor). The main roles are played once again by Vivian Ólafsdóttir (It Hatched, Black Sands), Jack Fox (Riviera, Sanditon, Cheaters) and Icelandic icon Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (Severance, True Detective, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald). New to the cast are Tom Weston-Jones (True Things, Warrior, Copper) and Laura Birn (Void, The Crow, Foundation).
Following the huge success of "Operation Napoleon," the team is delighted to announce the sequel with a completely new original story. Producer Anita Elsani explains: "The response to 'Operation Napoleon' was overwhelming. The film was a real box office hit in Iceland and was sold worldwide in over 40 countries, including the US. In addition, its performance on ZDF and SVOD platforms was exceptional. This strong national and international response fills us with confidence and enthusiasm for the sequel."
Alexander Klein adds: "For Splendid, 'Operation Napoleon' was one of last year's most successful titles, even surpassing major US productions on the German VOD market. We are very much looking forward to the second part, which we have developed from scratch as an original story."
Principal photography will take place until November 21, 2025, in Turku, the archipelago region of Finland, Iceland, and Hamburg. The fast-paced pan-European adventure is produced by Anita Elsani and Alexander Klein for Splendid Entertainment (Germany), Kjartan Thor Thordarson from Sagafilm (Iceland), and co-production partners Take Two Studios and Elsani Film GmbH. The production is supported by MOIN Filmförderung, Business Finland, and the Icelandic Ministry of Industry and Innovation. Sam Film will handle the theatrical release in Iceland, Splendid Film in Germany, and Beta Cinema will launch international sales at the upcoming American Film Market in Los Angeles.
The theatrical release in Germany is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 in collaboration with 24 Bilder.
