(Amsterdam/Cologne, December 16, 2025) – Amsterdamned II is breaking all records! At the end of last week, the film welcomed its 100,000th visitor with a spectacular celebration on the quay in front of Hotel De L'Europe. A diver emerged from the Amsterdam canals to present the Gouden Film Award to lead actress Holly Mae Brood and director Dick Maas. With this prestigious award, the Dutch Film Festival (supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, among others) honors Dutch films that sell more than 100,000 cinema tickets.

With this milestone, Amsterdamned II is once again making Dutch film history. The film had the strongest theatrical release of any Dutch film in 2025 and has now won a Gouden Film Award in record time. An achievement that impressively underscores the strength and impact of this long-awaited sequel. The film is also being shown in additional theaters nationwide and is currently playing in 149 theaters, including all 10 Dutch IMAX® theaters.

A city in the grip of fear - In Amsterdamned II, Huub Stapel reprises his role as detective Eric Visser, who is now retired. His quiet life is suddenly disrupted when Amsterdam is shaken by a series of gruesome murders that bear an unsettling resemblance to a case from decades ago. The young and ambitious detective Tara Lee (Holly Mae Brood) asks Visser for help. Together, they embark on a dark investigation through the canals of Amsterdam – where no one seems to be safe...
