(Cologne/Amsterdam, 22. April 2026) - Tom and Jerry are back! From 22 April, the iconic cat-and-mouse duo will be causing a stir in the Netherlands, before thrilling cinema-goers here from 30 April with their usual high-speed chases in their new adventure, Tom & Jerry and the Golden Compass.

This time, the legendary cartoon heroes travel farther than ever before - all the way to ancient China - and deliver their usual breakneck slapstick in a completely new setting.

A time-travel adventure packed with action, humor, and chaos, just as only Tom and Jerry can deliver: Director and screenwriter Gang Zhang combines breathtaking animation with a story full of slapstick moments, thrilling chases, and unforgettable scenes. The new animated film featuring the multiple Oscar®-winning animation legends, a production of China Film Co., Ltd. and Warner Bros. (F.E.), will surprise both new fans and loyal viewers alike.

A trip to the movies promises a wild time for the whole family: Tom the cat has a new job as a security trainee at the museum. It doesn’t take long for Jerry the mouse to show up, trying to sneak into the exhibition featuring the mythical Astral Compass. The legendary cat-and-mouse game begins, and the two accidentally open a portal that transports them to ancient China. In the Golden City, Tom is hailed as a hero, but the magical compass he wears around his neck turns out to be a problem: two groups are on the hunt for the compass, and a fast-paced adventure begins that Tom and Jerry can only survive by working together.

Dutch moviegoers can look forward to this animal-themed fun starting April 22, 2026: The film will open nationwide in 111 theaters. In Germany and Austria, movie fans will have to wait until April 30, 2026. Following previews in 161 theaters this coming weekend, the film will open in 50 Austrian and over 315 German theaters.
